Mem 2.0: Our Biggest Update Ever, Coming Later This Year

We’ve been hard at work on Mem 2.0: an entirely rebuilt version of Mem that incorporates the feedback we’ve heard over the past year.

I’m excited to officially announce that we’ll be launching Mem 2.0 later this year!

Mem 2.0 will bring you the speed, simplicity, and dependability of your OS’s notes app, with AI organization that actually works, and sharing that doesn’t suck. Until now, people have had to choose between rock-solid reliability, cutting-edge AI assistance, or seamless collaboration—we don’t think it needs to be that way.

What Mem 2.0 means for you

When we launch Mem 2.0, we will unify all of our product platforms and versions. We will release Mem 2.0 for iOS, Mem 2.0 for Mac, Mem 2.0 for Windows, and Mem 2.0 for web—all at the same time, and resume regular desktop updates.

We will also unify all paid subscriptions into a single plan: the Mem Individual Plan. Existing Mem and Mem X subscriptions will be automatically converted into a Mem Individual Plan. The Mem Individual Plan will provide unlimited access to Mem, including AI-powered features such as Chat, Search, and Related Notes.

What’s coming in Mem 2.0

Mem 2.0 has been rebuilt from the ground up. In doing so, we’ve eliminated all of the bugginess that has accumulated over time in the existing product. Beyond that, there are five key areas we’ve made major improvements to:

The note editor. The Mem 2.0 editor will have support for brand new editor functionality (details to come 👀), as well as real-time collaborative editing with live cursors.
Our AI. Chat, Search, and Related Notes are all getting major upgrades. Chat will gain deep understanding of time and personalized context, Search results will be more relevant and comprehensive than ever, and Related Notes will see the biggest update since we originally launched it in 2022.
Sharing. Notes will be shareable via link, and we’ll be bringing the same fast and easy sharing we support on notes today to collections.
The iOS app. The iOS app will see full feature parity with the web and desktop apps, including the ability to manage and use collections on the go.
Speed & Dependability. The Mem 2.0 architecture was built with full offline support for iOS, web, and desktop from the start. You’ll be able to create, edit, and search your notes instantly, whether you’re underground in the subway or 30,000 feet up in the air.
