You can append content to existing mems via Mem Spotlight. We call this Send to via Mem Spotlight. To try out Send to via Mem Spotlight, navigate to a page that you want to capture and open Mem Spotlight with ⌘⇧Space. You'll see two new options under Mem It:
With Mem, managing your relationships is easier than ever — you can build your personal CRM using Spotlight and Templates. First, head to Flows > Templates. Here, you can create a template to keep track of someone's personal information. For example, you can create a template called "Contact Card" with fields for where someone works, their contact information, and the date you were introduced. You can add a hashtag, like #people or #CRM, inside the template to automatically categorize each entry for easy reference.
The Mem API is a way for people to develop integrations and flows for Mem. It's currently geared toward software developers, but over time, we aim to make it possible for anyone to use tools like Zapier to build an integration without writing any code.
Our Texts flow is the fastest way to capture mems on-the-go from your mobile device. Head to Flows, then Texts to set up your SMS, WhatsApp, or Telegram (or all three). Anything you text Mem through any of these channels will flow into both your Timeline and Inbox.
You can collaborate on Mem by sharing mems with anyone, even if they don't have a Mem account. Sharing a mem with a teammate is as easy as @ mentioning their name.
To comment on a mem, highlight the text you want to comment on, hover over the lightning bolt button to the right, and click "Comment" from the dropdown. From here, you can choose to keep the comment private, or post for everyone to see. Each comment is also its own mem, so that every comment you make becomes a part of your searchable knowledge.
With Mem's Google Calendar integration, you can view, join, and take notes on all of your calendar events — without ever leaving Mem. Once you connect your calendar, your upcoming events will appear at the top of your Timeline.
Your knowledge is most useful when you can share it quickly with others. In Mem, you can use Groups to easily share mems with multiple other collaborators. To get started, navigate to the Groups tab in your sidebar and select "Create Group" in the top right corner. Enter a name for your new group, then add your teammates.
You can quickly capture new mems via Mem Spotlight (⌘⇧Space). From anywhere on your computer and even while you're viewing another application, you can pull up Mem Spotlight with ⌘⇧Space. You'll see the option to create a new mem — press Tab to continue to a blank mem where you can jot down anything on your mind:
Invite your friends to Mem with the invite button in the top right corner of the app. Just type in their email address to send them an invitation to Mem and help them bypass the waitlist. The more, the merrier!
Your data is scattered everywhere — but it doesn't have to be. You can bring already existing information into Mem via our Zapier integration. With zero programming knowledge required, you can pull data in from any app on the into Mem. Need to quickly find the phone number for a HubSpot contact? What about the flight confirmation code from your email? Or Slack messages that you saved for later reference? Now, you can make this information easily accessible wherever you are.
Scheduled mems allow you to automatically generate mems based on your schedule—whether that's a daily mem with top tasks and goals, a weekly team agenda, or a simple reminder to take out the trash.
Templates are a streamlined way to re-use mems over and over again. Create a template by navigating to the Flows page in your sidebar and clicking "Create Template".
Getting things done in Mem is easier than ever. Tasks — which you can now navigate to through your left sidebar — automatically aggregates all your tasks from across all your mems in one place and lets you manage them without switching contexts. To create a new task, just type [ + ] + SPACE.
You can pin mems to your sidebar using the star feature, so you can easily access important knowledge at your fingertips. Navigate to any mem and click the star icon to the right of your search bar. This will create a new starred mem, which will appear in your left-hand sidebar. Now, you can click the starred mem to access the mem anytime.
You can import Readwise highlights into Mem using the Mem API and Integromat. Learn more from Mem Community member Bhanu Vadlakonda's community tutorial.
Searching in Mem is the best way to recall your digital knowledge. You can search the way your brain thinks by using conversational phrases to find what you're looking for, making compound searches, and narrowing your search results dynamically based on recommended filters.
In Mem, capture is fast and frictionless. While you're in the Mem app, simply start typing to create a new mem, no buttons or keyboard shortcuts needed.
You can use Mem Spotlight to surface information in Mem in an instant, from anywhere on your computer. Mem is not only your personal knowledge base, it's also a Google Search for information that is uniquely relevant to you.
You can build out webs of knowledge with linked mems — they are a big plus (pun intended). Let’s start by creating a mem for Caroline Frank, someone you’ve met a few times (pro tip: the first line of every mem automatically becomes its title).
